The Creality Ender 3 was the first printer I had that reliably worked. I was coming from crappy home made printers and managed to get one second hand from eBay and remember being amazed that it actually just worked most of the time. I still have it and its still a reliable work horse, though you might argue its not the same printer anymore since just about every individual part has been changed. I'm not going to link directly to Creality here, there's no sense buying one new since they are basically indestructible and readily available second hand.
